Ami Anne | I am thinking that Depression is our bodies/minds way of making us face things. If we embrace the feeling,I think it will transmute. *I* am finding this, for myself. Any thoughts?------------------ Jesus never put his trust in man cuz he knew what was in man. He who controls his Spirit is greater than he who controls a city Proverbs |
emitres | i think in some instances yes... repression is not generally good for one's mental and emotional health... depression caused by organic/chemical factors wouldn't necessarily fall into this category... |
Ami Anne | I know there are many theories for Depression. Many people disagree as to it's root. Also, there is the cause and effect part, too, which came first, the chicken or the egg. For me,it is working ------------------ Jesus never put his trust in man cuz he knew what was in man. He who controls his Spirit is greater than he who controls a city Proverbs |
emitres | that's the more relevant factor - it's working for you... far too often in our society we want to categorize everyone into the same box - everyone feels the same, everyone responds the same way etc etc... we need to start focusing on the individuals... |
Ami Anne | I am more and more convinced that one must force themselves to show themselves. Depression, according to my Kundalini yoga teacher,is a hiding of the self. It is the sadness when one cannot shout with joy"Here I am" as a child would. It is from a squelching of your identity. You have had to subsume your identity under all sorts of outside pressures like parental dictates and societal dictates. The soul needs to sing and sing as if no one is looking and you won't be judged and criticized for being too proud or too much. When you can sing your own song, depression will leave. This is one man's opinion.Opinions are like noses. We,all ,have one and they usually have a few holes in them

I would agree. I've had 'depression' for a lot of my adult life,it is only lately at age 42 I am beginning to work things out about it. Instead of being so nice (My North Node in Aries) to everyone else, its time to put ME and what I WANT first. |
Ami Anne | Starfox Until I can manage to get there with my picnic lunch, why don't you add me on FaceBook. I will add you to the Lindaland FB group, too,if you would like ------------------ In this world, you will have tribulation but do not fear I have overcome the world. kitkat18 | One way to look at mild depression .... is it is repressed anger, so that can be your mind/body telling you that it hasn't healed some issues and is bringing them upto the surface so that you can look deep into your emotions and analyze them depresssion in a healer also helps to build empathy we must take into consideration that it is a serious disorder, and the genetic link there as well Hoping your not in depression! Please take care of yourself if you are xxx |
Ami Anne | Yes Kit I think depression is ,often, anger. Good point.Thank you so much for adding it!------------------ In this world, you will have tribulation but do not fear I have overcome the world. He who controls his Spirit is greater than he who controls a city Proverbs |

TrueTaurus | Yes, I mean, with every illness, it's our body/mind telling us something is wrong in our lives that needs to be fixed. |

Yes,totally Taurus That is exactly what I meant.I have really, really felt anger ,lately. It is the anger that I could strangle my mother just for the appetizer ------------------ If you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will forgive you But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
